Methods of Information in Medicine publishes international, peer-reviewed, original research articles, reviews, editorials, and letters to the editor. Founded in 1962, it is the oldest and longest running journal in its field. The focus of the journal is on methods in health informatics, including public health and consumer informatics. We welcome submissions describing novel scientific methods for structuring, integrating, analysing, storing and visualising information as well as methods for system design, implementation and evaluation.

MicroRNA publishes letters, full-length research, review articles, drug clinical trial studies and thematic issues on all aspects of microRNA (miRNA) research. The scope of the journal covers all experimental miRNA research and applied research in health and disease, including therapeutic, biomarkers, and diagnostic applications of MiRNA.

Microbes and Infection publishes 12 peer-reviewed issues per year in all fields of infection and immunity, covering the different levels of host-microbe interactions, and in particular:the molecular biology and cell biology of the crosstalk between hosts (human and experimental animals) and microbes (viruses, bacteria, parasites and fungi), including molecular virulence and evasion mechanisms.the immune response to infection, including pathogenesis and host susceptibility.emerging human infectious diseases.molecular epidemiology/genetics of host pathogen interactions.vaccine development, including novel strategies and adjuvants.Clinical studies, accounts of clinical trials and biomarker studies in infectious diseases are within the scope of the journal.Microbes and Infection publishes articles on human pathogens or pathogens of model systems. However, articles on other microbes can be published if they contribute to our understanding of basic mechanisms of host-pathogen interactions. The powerful emergence and global spread of antibiotic resistant microbial pathogens and resistance genes in the 1990s presents challenges to a wide range of disciplines - from the molecular biology of resistance mechanisms, virulence genes, and disease through molecular epidemiology all the way to drug design, infection control, and medical practice. This international journal provides a multidisciplinary forum for peer-reviewed original publications as well as topical reviews and special reports.

Microbial Genomics is a fully open access, mandatory open data peer reviewed journal publishing high-profile original research on archaea, bacteria, microbial eukaryotes and viruses. Submissions are welcome from across the breadth of microbiology and should include a genomic approach.

Microbial Pathogenesis publishes original contributions and reviews about the molecular and cellular mechanisms of infectious diseases. It covers microbiology, host-pathogen interaction and immunology related to infectious agents, including bacteria, fungi, viruses and protozoa. The journal Microbial Risk Analysis accepts articles dealing with the study of risk analysis applied to microbial hazards. Manuscripts should at least cover any of the components of risk assessment (risk characterization, exposure assessment, etc.), risk management and/or risk communication in any microbiology field (clinical, environmental, food, veterinary, etc.). This journal also accepts article dealing with predictive microbiology, quantitative microbial ecology, mathematical modeling, risk studies applied to microbial ecology, quantitative microbiology for epidemiological studies, statistical methods applied to microbiology, and laws and regulatory policies aimed at lessening the risk of microbial hazards. Work focusing on risk studies of viruses, parasites, microbial toxins, antimicrobial resistant organisms, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and recombinant DNA products are also acceptable.

Microbiology Spectrum® (Spectrum) is an online-only, fully open-access journal that publishes research from all domains of basic, applied, and clinical microbial sciences. Rather than making subjective evaluations of potential impact, Microbiology Spectrum publishes research studies that are of high technical quality and are useful to the community. All decisions are made by an international and diverse editorial board that fully represents the microbiology research community. The journal provides authors with fair, rapid, and rigorous peer review. The journal offers rapid publication and wide dissemination of excellent research at no cost to readers.

Microbiology and Molecular Biology Reviews® explores the significance and the interrelationships of the latest discoveries that build our understanding of bacteria, viruses, parasites, fungi, and other higher eukaryotes. Review articles enable both nonspecialists and specialists to understand the state of the science and apply the latest findings to advance their own research.

The central purpose of Microbiome is to unite investigators conducting microbiome research in environmental, agricultural, and biomedical arenas.Topics broadly addressing the study of microbial communities, such as, microbial surveys, bioinformatics, meta-omics approaches and community/host interaction modeling will be considered for publication. Through this collection of literature Microbiome hopes to integrate researchers with common scientific objectives across a broad cross-section of sub-disciplines within microbial ecology.

Papers describe applications of the methods of physiology, biophysics, bioengineering, genetics, cell biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology to problems in microcirculation. The journal also publishes state-of-the-art reviews that address frontier areas or new advances in technology in the fields of microcirculatory disease and function. Microscopy Research and Technique ( MRT ) publishes articles on all aspects of advanced microscopy in the biological, clinical, chemical, and materials sciences. Original research as well as technical papers dealing with the various subsets of microscopy are welcomed. This includes electron microscopy (transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, analytical microscopy [X-ray, EELS, Auger, etc.]), light microscopy (confocal microscopy, video microscopy, fluorescence microscopy, light microscopy combined Raman spectroscopy, fourier transform infra red spectroscopy [FTIR], etc.), scanning probe microscopy (AFM, STM, etc.), micro magnetic resonance imaging, micro acoustic imaging, as well as image analysis, quantitative morphology, and all other forms of leading edge microscopic imaging and image analysis. It is expected that manuscripts submitted for consideration will clearly present the scientific question, justify the type of specimen(s) used in the experiment, explicitly describe the methods utilized, employ proper statistics, present previously unpublished data, discuss whether the experiment has answered the proposed question, compare the results with those in salient published literature, and conform to MRT 's prescribed journal format.
