An attempt is made to balance critical editing with specific suggestions from the peer reviewers to meet high standards.*Controversial material of scientific merit is welcomed.

Periodica Mathematica Hungarica is the journal of the János Bolyai Mathematical Society, publishing original papers mainly in English, but also in German and French, in any area of pure and applied mathematics.

Pflügers Archiv European Journal of Physiology publishes the results of original research considered likely to further the physiological sciences in their broadest sense.
