Welcome to the Journal Guide

If you are a researcher from Lancaster University you can search for your favourite journals or filter to get to a selection of journals that match your research topic. Select a funder to see whether the journals are compliant. Check the filter ‘Journals with Agreements’ to limit the list to journals for which the APCs are fully waived (i.e. included in our Read and Publish agreements) or discounted. If a cost is shown then click ‘Check & Apply’ to see if the Open Access team can cover costs.

Religião & Sociedade is a journal published three times a year dedicated to religious subjects in all its relationship with society. It was created in 1977 by the Center for Religion Studies (CER) and the Institute for Religion Studies (ISER), which currently publishes it. It publishes cutting-edge research results, conceptual and methodological reflections, as well as reviews of recent works in its theme. Religião & Sociedade is one of the most important journals within the Social Sciences area and since its foundation has been contributing to the exchange of the production of different postgraduate programs and research centers in Brazil and abroad on the theme of religion.

Remedial and Special Education

ISSN: 0741-9325eISSN: 1538-4756

Remedial and Special Education (RSE) offers interdisciplinary articles that bridge the gap between theory and practice involving the education of individuals for whom typical instruction is not effective. Articles include topical reviews, syntheses of research, field evaluation studies, and recommendations for practice of remedial and special education.

Remote Sensing

eISSN: 2072-4292
DOAJ Logo

Remote Sensing (ISSN 2072-4292) publishes regular research papers, reviews, letters and communications covering all aspects of the remote sensing process, from instrument design and signal processing to the retrieval of geophysical parameters and their application in geosciences. Concepts of novel remote sensors as well as comprehensive reviews (including comprehensive reviews on complete sensors products) may also be published in another MDPI journal Sensors (ISSN 1424-8220). Our aim is to encourage scientists to publish experimental, theoretical and computational results in as much detail as possible so that results can be easily reproduced. There is no restriction on the length of the papers. The full experimental details must be provided so that the results can be reproduced. There are, in addition, three unique features of this Journal: Manuscripts regarding research proposals and research ideas are welcome Electronic files and software regarding the full details of the calculation and experimental procedure, if unable to be published in a normal way, can be deposited as supplementary material We also accept manuscripts communicating to a broader audience with regard to research projects financed with public funds

Remote Sensing Applications: Society and Environment

eISSN: 2352-9385
The journal 'Remote Sensing Applications: Society and Environment' (RSASE) focuses on remote sensing studies that address specific topics with an emphasis on environmental and societal issues - regional / local studies with global significance. Subjects are encouraged to have an interdisciplinary approach and include, but are not limited by: "
  • Global and climate change studies addressing the impact of increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases, CO2 emission, carbon balance and carbon mitigation, energy system on social and environmental systems
  • Ecological and environmental issues including biodiversity, ecosystem dynamics, land degradation, atmospheric and water pollution, urban footprint, ecosystem management and natural hazards (e.g. earthquakes, typhoons, floods, landslides)
  • Natural resource studies including land-use in general, biomass estimation, forests, agricultural land, plantation, soils, coral reefs, wetland and water resources
  • Agriculture, food production systems and food security outcomes
  • Socio-economic issues including urban systems, urban growth, public health, epidemics, land-use transition and land use conflicts
  • Oceanography and coastal zone studies, including sea level rise projections, coastlines changes and the ocean-land interface
  • Regional challenges for remote sensing application techniques, monitoring and analysis, such as cloud screening and atmospheric correction for tropical regions
  • Interdisciplinary studies combining remote sensing, household survey data, field measurements and models to address environmental, societal and sustainability issues
  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis that documents the impact of using remote sensing studies in social, political, environmental or economic systems

In addition to original research papers, comprehensive review articles are welcome. Tutorial papers and brief papers containing significant new data or techniques, or commenting on previously published papers (letters to the Editor), may be published as Short Communications.

Remote Sensing Letters

ISSN: 2150-704XeISSN: 2150-7058

Remote Sensing Letters is a peer-reviewed international journal committed to the rapid publication of articles advancing the science and technology of remote sensing as well as its applications. The journal originates from a successful section, of the same name, contained in the International Journal of Remote Sensing from 1983-2009. Articles may address any aspect of remote sensing of relevance to the journal's readership including, but not limited to, developments in sensor technology, advances in image processing and Earth-orientated applications, whether terrestrial, oceanic or atmospheric. Articles should make a positive impact on the subject by either contributing new and original information or through provision of theoretical, methodological or commentary material that acts to strengthen the subject. Articles should be submitted through the journal's ScholarOne Manuscripts site and may be of no more than 10 journal pages in length; it may be possible to transfer articles such as those that cannot meet this limit to the International Journal of Remote Sensing. Articles that pass initial processing stages will be sent out for review. The reviews solicited from independent experts and the journal's editorial board will inform the editorial decisions. There is no charge for colour illustrations. --- Disclaimer for Scientific, Technical and Social Science Publications Taylor & Francis make every effort to ensure the accuracy of all the information (the 'Content') contained in its publications.
