Journal Guide

Microscopy Research and Technique ( MRT ) publishes articles on all aspects of advanced microscopy in the biological, clinical, chemical, and materials sciences. Original research as well as technical papers dealing with the various subsets of microscopy are welcomed. This includes electron microscopy (transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, analytical microscopy [X-ray, EELS, Auger, etc.]), light microscopy (confocal microscopy, video microscopy, fluorescence microscopy, light microscopy combined Raman spectroscopy, fourier transform infra red spectroscopy [FTIR], etc.), scanning probe microscopy (AFM, STM, etc.), micro magnetic resonance imaging, micro acoustic imaging, as well as image analysis, quantitative morphology, and all other forms of leading edge microscopic imaging and image analysis. It is expected that manuscripts submitted for consideration will clearly present the scientific question, justify the type of specimen(s) used in the experiment, explicitly describe the methods utilized, employ proper statistics, present previously unpublished data, discuss whether the experiment has answered the proposed question, compare the results with those in salient published literature, and conform to MRT 's prescribed journal format.

Microsurgery is an international and interdisciplinary publication of original contributions concerning surgery under microscopic magnification. Microsurgery publishes clinical studies, research papers, invited articles, relevant reviews, and other scholarly works from all related fields including orthopaedic surgery, otolaryngology, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, urology, and vascular surgery.

Featuring rapid publication of important results, Microsystem Technologies examines electromechanical, materials, design, and manufacturing issues of microsystems and their components. It integrates the knowledge, experience, and capabilities of academic and industrial specialists in many fields. Moreover, it contributes to the economically and ecologically sound production of reliable, high performance MEMS and information storage and processing systems.                  The journal’s coverage of MEMS/NEMS addresses sensors, actuators, and other micro/nanosystems as well as micromechatronic systems integration. Coverage of information storage systems includes magnetic recording, optical recording, and other recording devices. Lastly, under the category of processing systems, the journal explores copiers, printers, scanners, and digital cameras. All contributions meet international archival quality standards.

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters provides quick publication (3 to 6 month turnaround) of the most recent findings and achievements in high frequency technology, from RF to optical spectrum. The journal publishes original short papers and letters on theoretical, applied, and system results in the following areas.

The Midcontinental Journal of Archaeology (MCJA) is the premier peer-reviewed, academic archaeology journal of the Midwest Archaeological Conference (MAC). The Conference serves to promotes and stimulate interest in the archaeology of the midwestern United States and neighboring areas; to serve as a bond among those interested in this and related subjects; to advocate for the conservation of archaeological data; and to encourage an appreciation and support of regional archaeological research.

The MCJA seeks original articles on Eastern Woodlands archaeology of the region between the Appalachian Mountains and the Great Plains, from the Boreal Forests to the Gulf of Mexico, and on closely related subjects.  Our contributions range in chronology and context from the kill sites of the continents’ first inhabitants to the privies of early 20th century city dwellers. We are especially interested in manuscripts that apply contemporary theory or method to existing problems and data sets in the midcontinent and that are of broad, general interest across the region. The MAC occasionally sponsors symposiums at its annual meeting on timely spatial or temporal issues that form special edited sections of the journal.
