The Journal of Eastern African Studies is the international publication of the British Institute in Eastern Africa, published three times each year. It aims to promote fresh scholarly enquiry on the region from within the humanities and the social sciences, and to encourage work that communicates across disciplinary boundaries. It seeks to foster inter-disciplinary analysis, strong comparative perspectives, and research employing the most significant theoretical or methodological approaches for the region. The Editors welcome submissions from all academic disciplines in the humanities and social sciences, including archaeology, anthropology, cultural studies, development studies, economics, environmental studies, geography, history, international relations, literatures and languages, political economy, politics, social policy and sociology. Journal of Eating Disorders is the first open access, peer-reviewed journal publishing leading research in the science and clinical practice of eating disorders.

The Journal of Echocardiography, the official journal of the Japanese Society of Echocardiography, publishes work that contributes to progress in the field and articles in clinical research as well, seeking to develop a new focus and new perspectives for all who are concerned with this discipline. The journal welcomes original investigations, review articles, case reports, letters to the editor, editorials, and images in cardiovascular ultrasound, which will be reviewed by the editorial board. The Journal of Echocardiography provides the best of up-to-date information from around the world, presenting readers with high-impact, original work focusing on pivotal issues.

The Journal of Ecohydraulics (TJoE) embodies the varied research undertaken in ecohydraulics covering water resources and aquatic life, ecology, biology, hydraulics, engineering, geoscience, environmental science, climate change and other related fields, with an emphasis on the integration of these disciplines.

The Journal is of interest to academics involved in fundamental or applied sciences, as well as practitioners and policy makers working at the applied environmental management end of the spectrum, including those who seek innovative solutions to environmental assessment, impacts of and mitigation for existing or new projects.

A range of approaches are invited – from physical and numerical modelling to empirical laboratory experimentation and field studies – aimed to answer fundamental questions and solve challenges of value to real world applications. Articles that demonstrate novel investigations and research interactions, bridging disciplinary divides, as well as integrate physical and ecological processes are particularly welcomed.

Key contributors comprise of aquatic biologists and ecologists, environmental and climate change scientists, civil, mechanical, and environmental engineers, regulators and policy makers, natural resource managers, and conservationists.

TJoE Topics

• Ecohydraulic topics are broadly based on the trilogy of a) aquatic biota movements, b) e-flows, i.e. environmental, instream or ecological flow regimes, and c) habitat or ecological restoration.
• Ecohydraulics deals with aquatic life in freshwater, lentic and marine ecosystems, native as well as introduced or invasive species, climate change effects, environmental impacts and mitigation measures; incorporates species-habitat relationships, the need and ways to ensure biota can overcome any artificial physical or behavioural barriers to their movements; interactions of ecological and biological aspects with groundwater, ice and thermal regimes, water quality, ocean habitats, wetlands, deltas, floodplains or channels.
• Ecohydraulic science pertinent to aquatic life, including fluid mechanics, morphodynamics, fluvial geomorphology, hydrology and ice processes.
• Aquatic fauna ecology and biology relevant to ecohydraulic science, including exotic species, artificial habitats, habitat preferences, movements, behaviour, biomechanics, bioenergetics, and population dynamics.
• Aquatic ecology and biology from individual to population level, over a range of spatial (habitat patch to river basin) and temporal scales.
• Mitigation measures, including biota passageways, fishways, fish screens, improvement, rehabilitation or replacement of habitats, wetlands, deltas or broader ecosystems.
• River basin, ecosystem, estuarine, delta, and wetland restoration, including removal of dams and other water infrastructure, environmental impact assessment and aquatic ecosystems assessment.

The list above should be treated as indicative rather than fully exhaustive. Topics not mentioned above but still related to hydro-environment research may also be considered.

Peer Review

All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editors, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to single blind peer review by at least two independent, anonymous expert referees.

A British Ecological Society journal, the Journal of Ecology publishes original research papers on all aspects of the ecology of plants (including algae), in both aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.

The Journal of Econometrics is designed to serve as an outlet for important new research in both theoretical and applied econometrics. The scope of the Journal includes papers dealing with estimation and other methodological aspects of the application of statistical inference to economic data, as well as papers dealing with the application of econometric techniques to substantive areas of economics. Econometric research in the traditional divisions of the discipline or in the newly developing areas of social experimentation are decidedly within the range of the Journal's interests.Annals of Econometrics form a supplement to the Journal of Econometrics. Each issue of the Annals includes a collection of papers on an important topic in econometrics, selected by the editor of the issue. Leading researchers have contributed papers on topics such as welfare econometrics of peak-load pricing for electricity, censored or truncated regression models, non-nested models, model specification, econometric analysis of duration data, pre-test and Stein-rule estimators, Bayesian analysis of econometric models etc. The in-depth treatment of specific topics in issues of the Annals will be of value to researchers, teachers and students in applied and theoretical econometrics. The Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization is devoted to theoretical and empirical research concerning economic decision, organization and behavior and to economic change in all its aspects. Its specific purposes are to foster an improved understanding of how human cognitive, computational and informational characteristics influence the working of economic organizations and market economies and how an economy's structural features lead to various types of micro and macro behavior, to changing patterns of development and to institutional evolution. Research with these purposes that explore the interrelations of economics with other disciplines such as biology, psychology, law, anthropology, sociology, finance, marketing, political science, and mathematics is particularly welcome. The journal is eclectic as to research method; systematic observation and careful description, simulation modeling and mathematical analysis are all within its purview. The journal provides an outlet for publication of research concerning all theoretical and empirical aspects of economic dynamics and control as well as the development and use of computational methods in economics and finance.
