Welcome to the Journal Guide

If you are a researcher from Lancaster University you can search for your favourite journals or filter to get to a selection of journals that match your research topic. Select a funder to see whether the journals are compliant. Check the filter ‘Journals with Agreements’ to limit the list to journals for which the APCs are fully waived (i.e. included in our Read and Publish agreements) or discounted. If a cost is shown then click ‘Check & Apply’ to see if the Open Access team can cover costs.

Journal of Catalysis

ISSN: 0021-9517eISSN: 1090-2694

Journal of Catalysis is the premier scholarly publication in the field of catalysis and an indispensable source of information for chemists and chemical engineers in both industrial and academic fields. Over the last decade, Journal of Catalysis has been ranked among the top five chemical engineering journals in terms of impact and relevance. During this period, it has published some of the most important contributions to physical chemistry and the science and applications of catalysis.Journal of Catalysis publishes original, rigorous, and scholarly contributions in the fields of heterogeneous catalysis and homogeneous catalysis. These include studies that relate catalytic function to fundamental chemical processes at surfaces and in metal complexes, novel concepts in surface chemistry, the synthesis and catalytic function of novel inorganic solids and complexes, spectroscopic methods for structural characterization, and theoretical methods of direct interest and impact in the science and applications of catalysts and catalytic processes.Journal of Catalysis publishes manuscripts of archival value because of their significant fundamental and conceptual contributions to our understanding and practice of catalytic chemistries. The journal features authoritative articles, priority communications, research notes, and letters to the Editors.Journal of Catalysis also publishes Priority Communications and Research Notes. Priority Communications contain unique, exciting, and novel results that provide compelling evidence for rapid publication; while results in such communications may be of a preliminary nature, experimental details must be fully documented and the results reliably reproduced. Research Notes typically contain data and concepts that resolve in a concise but rigorous manner issues raised in previous publications.

Journal of Cell Biology

ISSN: 0021-9525eISSN: 1540-8140

The Journal of Cell Biology is an international peer-reviewed journal owned by The Rockefeller University and published by The Rockefeller University Press. In the early 1950s, a small group of biologists began to explore intracellular anatomy using the emerging technology of electron microscopy. Many of these researchers were at The Rockefeller Institute of Medicine, the predecessor of The Rockefeller University. As their work progressed to publication, they were disappointed with the limited quality of halftone image reproduction in the printed journals of the time, and they were frustrated by the narrow editorial policies of existing journals regarding their image-based results. In 1954, the director of The Rockefeller Institute, Detlev Bronk, convened a luncheon to discuss the creation of a new journal as a venue for publication of this type of work (Porter and Bennett, 1981).

Journal of Cell Communication and Signaling

ISSN: 1873-9601eISSN: 1873-961X

The Journal of Cell Communication and Signaling (JCCS), the official publication of the International CCN Society (ICCNS), aims to serve as a forum for translational research. In particular, it wishes to publish papers discussing cell-cell and cell-matrix communication as well as intracellular signaling that are particularly important to understanding how cellular behavior is converted to pathological states. As well as primary research articles, JCCS also encourages the submission of commentaries discussing recent publications, key developments and controversies. We hope that JCCS will truly represent a novel forum for communication! In addition to Research reports of data from original research the Journal of Cell Communication and Signaling also welcomes the submission of: - Commentaries which are short, focused and opinionated articles on any subject within the journal's scope. These articles are usually related to a contemporary issue, such as recent research findings, and are often written by opinion leaders invited by the Editorial Board. - Comprehensive Reviews which constitute authoritative descriptions of any subject within the journal's scope. These articles are usually written by opinion leaders who have been invited by the Editorial Board. - Historical Reviews that report basic concepts and milestones in the discovery of key regulatory molecules. These articles are usually written by specialists who have been invited by the editorial board.

Journal of Cellular Biochemistry

ISSN: 0730-2312eISSN: 1097-4644

The Journal of Cellular Biochemistry publishes descriptions of original research in which complex cellular, pathogenic, clinical, or animal model systems are studied by biochemical, molecular, genetic, epigenetic or quantitative ultrastructural approaches. Submission of papers reporting genomic, proteomic, bioinformatics and systems biology approaches to identify and characterize parameters of biological control in a cellular context are encouraged. The areas covered include, but are not restricted to, conditions, agents, regulatory networks, or differentiation states that influence structure, cell cycle & growth control, structure-function relationships, cell fate and lineage commitment or assembly mechanisms in cells, viruses, or supramolecular constructs, and signaling mechanisms mediating transcription. This scope extends to cell structure and function; organelle assembly; regulation of cell organization, reproduction or differentiation; the architectural organization and compartmentalization of nucleic acids and regulatory proteins within the nucleus and cytoplasm; the dynamics of intranuclear trafficking, placement and assembly of regulatory machinery for gene expression; the development, organization or remodeling of tissues; and to stem cell biology and regenerative medicine.
