The Journal of Bioactive and Compatible Polymers provides biomedical polymer scientists and researchers throughout the world with current frontier research advances in the field. Coverage includes polymeric scaffolds for tissue engineering and tissue regeneration, polymeric drugs and pro-drug systems, drug delivery and targeted delivery systems, biosensors and stimuli-sensitive biosystems, modeling and modification of enzyme sensitive polymer systems, biorelated polymers with unique properties and bioapplications.

The Journal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology is an international journal that contains original research papers, rapid communications, mini-reviews, and book reviews, all focusing on the molecular mechanisms of action and detoxication of exogenous and endogenous chemicals and toxic agents. The scope includes effects on the organism at all stages of development, on organ systems, tissues, and cells as well as on enzymes, receptors, hormones, and genes. The biochemical and molecular aspects of uptake, transport, storage, excretion, lactivation and detoxication of drugs, agricultural, industrial and environmental chemicals, natural products and food additives are all subjects suitable for publication. Of particular interest are aspects of molecular biology related to biochemical toxicology. These include studies of the expression of genes related to detoxication and activation enzymes, toxicants with modes of action involving effects on nucleic acids, gene expression and protein synthesis, and the toxicity of products derived from biotechnology. Given the rapid development of the field of toxicology during the last few decades and the fundamental importance of biochemical mechanisms in all aspects of toxicology the Journal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology is of interest, not only to active investigators in the field but to many other scientists. These include other biochemists, molecular biologists, and toxicologists involved in industrial and contract research and testing laboratories, and those involved in legal and regulatory work related to toxic chemicals. The Journal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology is published bimonthly with one volume of 6 issues per calendar year.

 The Journal of Bioeconomics is devoted to creative interdisciplinary dialogues between biologists and economists. It promotes the mutual exchange of theories, methods, and data where biology can help explaining economic behavior and the nature of the human economy: and where economics is conducive to understanding the economy of nature. The Journal invites contributions relevant to the bioeconomic agenda from economic fields such as behavioral economics, biometric studies, neuroeconomics, consumer studies, ecological economics, evolutionary economics, evolutionary game theory, political economy, and ethnicity studies. From biology, the Journal welcomes contributions from, among others, evolutionary biology, systematic biology, behavioral ecology, ethology, paleobiology, and sociobiology. The Journal of Bioenergetics and Biomembranes has a new Editor in Chief, Daniel M. Raben who assumed his new position on January 1, 2013. Dr. Raben is now joined by four new Associate Editors and an updated and expanded Editorial Board. This team is dedicated to growing and expanding JOBB to meet the research needs of its expanding audience. The Journal of Bioenergetics and Biomembranes is an international journal devoted to the publication of original research that contributes to fundamental knowledge in the areas of bioenergetics, membranes, and transport, including oxidative phosphorylation, photosynthesis, muscle contraction, and biomembranes. The timely research in this international journal benefits biophysicists, membrane biologists, cell biologists, biochemists, molecular biologists, physiologists, endocrinologists, and bio-organic chemists.

The Journal of Bioethical Inquiry is a forum for discussing and debating ethical, cultural and social issues arising in medicine, the health sciences and health care in general. Coverage includes core areas of conventional bioethics, such as research, clinical practice and medical technology. The journal also addresses questions of pressing contemporary relevance, such as the implications of current world events for the health of populations, and critical analyses of specific social policies around the world and their likely impact on health and welfare and systems of power. In addition to original research, regular features include: New developments; Reader Response; and case scenarios with commentaries.

Papers dealing with all aspects of spatial, ecological and historical biogeography are considered for publication in Journal of Biogeography. The mission of the journal is to contribute to the growth and societal relevance of the discipline of biogeography through its role in the dissemination of biogeographical research. To that end, the editorial policy is that the journal seeks to be representative of the discipline of biogeography, to be global in scope, and to be inclusive of major traditions and viewpoints within the discipline. Authors are particularly encouraged to submit concise, clearly written papers focused on precisely framed questions or hypotheses of broad interest to the wide international readership of the journal. Article formats include provocative Guest Editorials, short Commentaries and Correspondence, submissions of which are encouraged alongside standard research papers (Original Articles). The journal was established in 1974 and is published in 12 issues a year, as part of a joint subscription package together with the sister journals Global Ecology and Biogeography and Diversity and Distributions. The three journals have overlapping scope and aims; with the sister titles each emphasising links between biogeography and related disciplines, as described below. The journal emphasizes studies that address general ecological hypotheses, explored and tested using data of broad geographic, taxonomic, or temporal scope. A variety of approaches are represented: empirical studies documenting ecological and biogeographic patterns, theoretical studies that explore the causes of those patterns, applied studies of impacts of anthropogenic influences, as well as methodological studies of the tools used to study these problems. Recent work published in Global Ecology and Biogeography has included topics such as broad-scale patterns of biodiversity, ecosystem responses to global climate change, historical and evolutionary biogeography, remote sensing of ecosystem properties, species abundance and species range patters, and statistical methodologies. The journal was established in 1991 and is published in 6 issues a year. Diversity and Distributions publishes papers on a wide range of themes relating to the study of biodiversity. The journal has become and will remain a key forum for research on the ecology of biological invasions. The adoption, in 2005, of the subtitle A Journal of Conservation Biogeography recognises the need for a journal whose primary mission is to focus on the application of biogeographical theories and methods to conservation problems at scales from landscape up to the global. The journal was launched in 1998 and is published in six issues a year.

The Journal of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology aims to publish high quality, original research articles, expository tutorial papers and review papers as well as short, critical comments on technical issues associated with the analysis of cellular information.The research papers will be technical presentations of new assertions, discoveries and tools, intended for a narrower specialist community. The tutorials, reviews and critical commentary will be targeted at a broader readership of biologists who are interested in using computers but are not knowledgeable about scientific computing, and equally, computer scientists who have an interest in biology but are not familiar with current thrusts nor the language of biology. Such carefully chosen tutorials and articles should greatly accelerate the rate of entry of these new creative scientists into the field.

The Journal of Biological Chemistry publishes papers based on original research that are judged to make a novel and important contribution to understanding the molecular and cellular basis of biological processes.

Journal of Biological Dynamics publishes state of the art papers dealing with the analysis of dynamic models that arise from biological processes. The Journal focuses on dynamic phenomena at scales ranging from the level of individual organisms to that of populations, communities, and ecosystems in the fields of ecology and evolutionary biology, population dynamics, epidemiology, immunology, environmental science, and animal behavior. Papers in other areas are acceptable at the editors' discretion. In addition to papers that analyze original mathematical models and develop new theories and analytic methods, the Journal welcomes papers that connect mathematical modeling and analysis to experimental and observational data.
