Ecography is a journal issued by the Nordic Ecological Society OIKOS, representing ecologists in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Ecologists from all countries are invited to publish original results on its pages.ECOGRAPHY publishes papers focused on broad spatial and temporal patterns, particularly studies of population and community ecology, macroecology, biogeography, and ecological conservation. Studies in ecological genetics and historical ecology are welcomed in the context of explaining contemporary ecological patterns. Manuscripts are expected to address general principles in ecology, though they may do so using a specific model system if this frames the problem relative to a generalised ecological issue.Papers generally are expected to be based on concise hypotheses or to relate to concise theoretical concepts based on sound natural history. Purely descriptive papers are considered only if breaking new ground and/or describing patterns seldom explored. Manuscripts merely confirming or marginally extending results of previous work are discouraged. Papers are judged by virtue of their originality, appeal to general interest, and their contribution to new developments in ecological research concerning spatial and temporal patterns. There is no bias with regard to taxon, biome, or biogeographical area.

Ecohydrology is an international journal publishing original scientific and review papers that aim to improve understanding of processes at the interface between ecology and hydrology and associated applications related to environmental management. Ecohydrology seeks to increase interdisciplinary insights by placing particular emphasis on interactions and associated feedbacks in both space and time between ecological systems and the hydrological cycle. Research contributions are solicited from disciplines focusing on the physical, ecological, biological, biogeochemical, geomorphological, drainage basin, mathematical and methodological aspects of ecohydrology. Research in both terrestrial and aquatic systems is of interest provided it explicitly links ecological systems and the hydrologic cycle; research such as aquatic ecological, channel engineering, or ecological or hydrological modelling is less appropriate for the journal unless it specifically addresses the criteria above. Manuscripts describing individual case studies are of interest in cases where broader insights are discussed beyond site- and species-specific results. The Journal also publishes research on new instrumentation and techniques if they describe truly new and significant advances in methodology that can be broadly applied to the ecohydrological understanding and management of environmental systems. Occasional special issues will be published that cover themes emergent from conferences, ecological and hydrological science societies and key research topics. Ecohydrology welcomes the submission of comment/reply on previously published papers. Such submissions should preferably be in the form of a short paper not exceeding 2000 words and relate to papers previously published in the Journal. Ecohydrology & Hydrobiology is an international journal that aims to advance ecohydrology as the study of the interplay between ecological and hydrological processes from molecular to river basin scales, and to promote its implementation as an integrative management tool to harmonize societal needs with biosphere potential.Water is a major driver of biogeochemical evolution and hence of biodiversity and biological productivity (e.g., food production). In human-modified, degraded systems, therefore, regulation of ecohydrological processes is the most relevant way for achieving sustainability.An essential component of ecohydrology is a rigorous understanding of hydrobiology, from ecosystem properties, dynamics and functions to modelling of abiotic and biotic interactions in relation to their hydrological determinants at the basin scale.The journal will publish high-quality science aimed at increasing the understanding of water – biota interplay and exploring how this knowledge can be used to regulate hydrological and biogeochemical processes to enhance the carrying capacity, especially of anthropogenically modified ecosystems. Research addressing one or several of the following issues will be of prime interest to the journal if it:Leads to new insights into the interactions of water, nutrient and pollutant cycles with biotic components of ecosystems;Employs this understanding for developing ecosystem biotechnologies and system solutions;Identifies possibilities to integrate engineering infrastructure with ecohydrological biotechnologies into system solutions at the catchment scale;Translates transdisciplinary knowledge into decision-support tools;Targets biodiversity, quality and quantity of water resources, ecosystem processes and functioning (including environmental flows), ecosystem services and/or ecosystem resilience as necessary components for enhanced carrying capacity;Is policy-oriented and, within the scope of the journal, addresses the priorities and objectives of international initiatives such as the Millennium Development Goals and UNESCO's International Hydrological Programme.

Ecologia Balkanica” is an international scientific journal, in which original research articles in various fields of Ecology are published, including ecology and conservation of microorganisms, plants, aquatic and terrestrial animals, physiological ecology, behavioral ecology, population ecology, population genetics, community ecology, plant-animal interactions, ecosystem ecology, parasitology, animal evolution, ecological monitoring and bioindication, landscape and urban ecology, conservation ecology, as well as new methodical contributions in ecology. Studies conducted on the Balkans are a priority, but studies conducted in Europe or anywhere else in the World are accepted as well. The journal is published by the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria – Plovdiv and the University of Plovdiv Publishing House. It is distributed as a hard copy and online (open access) version. Articles are archived and searched through several major OA repositories: DOAJ, Index Coupernicus, Google Scholar and many others. All accepted articles are published online first and after the completion of the issue they are available online and as hardcopy as well.

Mission Statement: Ecological Applications is concerned broadly with the applications of ecological science to environmental problems. It publishes papers that develop scientific principles to support environmental decision-making, as well as papers that discuss the application of ecological concepts to environmental issues, policy, and management. Papers may report on experimental tests, actual applications, scientific decision support techniques, economic analyses, social implications of environmental issues, or other relevant topics. Statistical or experimental methods papers that support research and applications are welcome. Papers submitted to Ecological Applications should be accessible to both scholars and practitioners.

The quarterly Ecological Chemistry and Engineering S is a multidisciplinary journal devoted to the publishing of original scientific papers, review articles, professional papers, case reports and varia (professional information, book reviews, etc.). It is pertinent to describe methods determining quality of air, water, soils and food. Many papers published are on monitoring and biomonitoring of an environment and on transfer of pollutants (eg heavy metals or radionuclides) from soil to plants. Some Authors consider impact of environment pollution on food and human health. Some papers describe models of pollutant spreading in air or within soil. Others are devoted to various technologies to prevent or minimize industrial pollution, as well as to remediation techniques. Papers on renewable energy sources are also very welcome. .

Ecological Complexity is an international journal devoted to the publication of high quality, peer-reviewed articles on all aspects of biocomplexity in the environment, theoretical ecology, and special issues on topics of current interest. The scope of the journal is wide and interdisciplinary with an integrated and quantitative approach. The journal is concerned with extending and integrating the study and management of nature's household (ecology) and humankind's household (economics). This integration is necessary because conceptual and professional isolation have led to economic and environmental policies which are mutually destructive rather than reinforcing in the long term. The journal is meant for ecologists who, because of their research interests or occupation, are involved in designing, monitoring, or constructing ecosystems. It is meant to serve as a bridge between ecologists and engineers, as ecotechnology is not wholly defined by either field.The journal will be read and contributed to by applied ecologists, environmental scientists and managers and regulators, natural resource specialists (e.g. foresters, fish and wildlife specialists), environmental and civil engineers, agroecologists, and landscape planners and designers. Acta Ecologica Sinica is the only comprehensive journal in China devoted to ecology and its sub-disciplines. It relies on and unites ecological scientists in China with the aim of publishing papers on innovative experimental work. Published papers should bear the characteristics of combined ecological research frontiers and clear national benefits, unveiling mechanisms of the interactions between life and environment, and promoting the development of ecological science in China. In the last five years, Acta Ecologica Sinica has been one of the top journals in the category of biological science in terms of total citation and impact factor, and was awarded as one of the "Hundred outstanding Journals".

Acta Ecologica Sinica has been awarded several times including the first-class award from the http://english.cas.cn/Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 2000, the second-class award from http://english.cast.org.cn/ Chinese Association of Sci. & Tech. in 2002, the second-class award of National Journal Award, and was listed among the 100 key journals in China at the second national journal show.

The journal Ecological Informatics is devoted to the publication of high quality, peer-reviewed articles on all aspects of ecoinformatics, computational ecology and systems ecology. The scope of the journal takes into account the data-intensive nature of ecology and the precious information content of ecological data in view of global environmental and climate change. The nature of the journal is interdisciplinary at the crossover between ecology and informatics.
