Polar Science is an international, peer-reviewed and quarterly journal. It is dedicated to provide original research articles for sciences related to the polar regions of the Earth and other planets. Polar Science has basically 12 disciplines listed below; they cover most aspects of space, earth, and life sciences. Those articles should attract interests of broad polar science communities, not limiting to interests of those who work under specific research subjects.- Space and upper atmosphere physics- Atmospheric science/climatology- Glaciology- Oceanography/sea ice studies- Geology/petrology- Solid earth geophysics/seismology- Marine earth science- Geomorphology/Cenozoic-Quaternary geology- Meteoritics- Terrestrial biology- Marine biology- Animal ecologyBenefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Population Ecology publishes refereed original research articles and reviews on various aspects of population ecology, from the individual to the community level. Coverage includes population dynamics and distribution, evolutionary ecology, ecological genetics, theoretical models, conservation biology, agroecosystem studies, and bioresource management. Notes and Comments articles (limited to 6 pages in print) offer brief items on both empirical and theoretical investigations, as well as comments on previously published papers. New concepts, analyses, and data are discussed in Forum articles. Special Features, collections of research articles and reviews organized by the editors, are published periodically and focus on specific research topics. The Chief Editor is Dr. Kazunori Sato, Shizuoka University, Hamamatsu, Japan.
The journal is devoted exclusively to the publication of original papers and review articles on biological and technologicalpostharvest research. This includes the areas of postharvest storage, treatments and underpinning mechanisms, quality evaluation, packaging, handling and distribution of fresh food crops, but excluding research on grains and forage.Articles on the postharvest treatment of fresh products as affecting the eventual quality of processed product may be included, but articles on food processing will not be considered. Papers based on fundamental and interdisciplinary research will be particularly encouraged. These disciplines include genomics and molecular biology, entomology, plant physiology, plant pathology, chemistry, engineering, modelling, advanced technology and economics.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Potato Research, the journal of the European Association for Potato Research (EAPR), promotes the exchange of information on all aspects of this fast-evolving global industry. It offers the latest developments in innovative research to scientists active in potato research. The journal presents authoritative coverage of new scientific developments, offering original research and review papers on such topics as Molecular sciences, Breeding, Physiology, Pathology, Nematology, Virology, Agronomy and Engineering and Utilization. Potato Research also publishes reports and papers from the Triennial Conferences of the EAPR, along with accounts of meetings of the Sections of the Association, book reviews, and more.
Poultry Science (PS) is an international journal publishing original papers, research notes, symposium papers, and reviews of basic science as applied to poultry. This authoritative source of poultry information is consistently ranked by ISI impact factor as one of the top 10 agriculture, dairy and animal science journals to deliver high-caliber research at low cost to libraries. Subject areas include breeding, genetics, education, production, management, environment, health, behavior, welfare, immunology, molecular biology, metabolism, nutrition, physiology, reproduction, processing, and products. Symposia on relevant and important topics are published in their entirety, as are abstracts from the annual PSA scientific meeting and from the SPSS/SCAD meeting.
Precision Agriculture presents the most innovative results emerging from research in the field of precision agriculture. It provides an effective forum for disseminating original and fundamental research and experience in the rapidly advancing area of precision farming. Topics that are addressed include natural resources variability, including soil and landscape variability; managing variability, including sampling techniques, nutrient and crop protection chemical recommendation and crop quality; engineering technology, focusing on Computers, positioning systems, DGPS, machinery, and more. Discussion of profitablility includes net returns, BMPs and optimum recommendations; environmental coverage includes sediments, leaching, runoff and drainage. Also covered are topics regarding transfer of technology: education, training, outreach and more. Precision Agriculture promotes the most innovative results coming from the research in the field of precision agriculture.
Preventive Veterinary Medicine is one of the leading international resources for scientific reports on animal health programs and preventive veterinary medicine. The journal follows the guidelines for standardizing and strengthening the reporting of biomedical research which are available from the CONSORT, MOOSE, PRISMA, REFLECT, STARD, and STROBE statements. The journal focuses on:Epidemiology of health events relevant to domestic and wild animals;Economic impacts of epidemic and endemic animal and zoonotic diseases;Latest methods and approaches in veterinary epidemiology;Disease and infection control or eradication measures; The "One Health" concept and the relationships between veterinary medicine, human health, animal-production systems, and the environment;Development of new techniques in surveillance systems and diagnosis;Evaluation and control of diseases in animal populations. The journal encourages the submission of clinical and field-trial studies, particularly those related to new vaccines and other preventive measures. These studies, however, should follow the Consort Statement (http://www.consort-statement.org) or Reflect Statement (http://reflect-statement.org).Prevalence studies may be considered for publication, but only if the results are likely to be of international interest (i.e. it must be possible to generalize the findings using scientifically based approaches). For these studies, key considerations in the review process will include (but are not limited to): consideration of both animal-level and herd-level demographics in the sampling design; the study population's relevance to the authors' described target population; the potential for confounding; and how well the sample-size justification assures high precision. The sensitivity and specificity of non-perfect tests used must be declared; the true rather than the apparent prevalence must be presented.Submissions of reviews of relevant topics are also encouraged, but these should follow the systematic-review process addressed by the guidelines in the following two websites: http://jama.ama-assn.org/cgi/reprint/283/15/2008; http://prisma-statement.org.Preventive Veterinary Medicine does not publish studies on experimental development of diagnostic assays without the appropriate field evaluation. Guidelines for the evaluation of diagnostic assays are followed in the review process (http://www.stard-statement.org)).Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more.
