The South African Journal of International Affairs (SAJIA) is an outward-looking International Relations journal. While taking a South African and African perspective, articles are comparative, and address issues of global importance. Published since 1993, SAJIA has become a leading South African journal publishing original and review articles on international relations involving and affecting Africa. The South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA) is an independent, non-governmental organisation focusing on South Africa's and Africa's international relations. The South African Journal of Philosophy publishes original contributions (articles, discussions of articles previously published, review articles and book reviews) within any field of philosophy. The Journal has a proud history of publishing quality papers in the fields of applied plant and soil sciences and has, since its inception, recorded a vast body of scientific information with particular reference to South Africa.

The South African Journal of Psychology publishes contributions in English from all fields of psychology. While the emphasis is on empirical research, the Journal also accepts theoretical and methodological papers, review articles, short communications, reviews and letters containing fair commentary. Priority is given to articles which are relevant to Africa and which address psychological issues of social change and development.

The South African Journal of Science (SAJS) is a premier scientific journal that aims to publish original work of importance across a variety of disciplines, including: Archaeology and Palaeontology, Astronomy, Chemistry, Ecology, Health Science, Humanities and Social Science, Mathematics, Physics, Technology and Computer Science. SAJS is particularly interested in publishing work that has a regional focus on Africa.

The SAJS is a quarterly general surgical journal. It carries research articles and letters, editorials, clinical practice and other surgical articles and personal opinion, South African health-related news, obituaries, general correspondence, and classified advertisements.

Founded in 1985 and currently in its twenty-second year of publication the SAJHR is the leading South African public law journal, publishing scholarship of the highest standard from Southern Africa and from around the world. The Journal publishes articles, notes and comments and book reviews on topics of relevance to Southern Africa and dealing with human rights, legal philosophy, constitutional and administrative law, freedom of information, law and development and public international law. Submissions taking an interdisciplinary and/or empirical approach to these subjects are particularly encouraged.

The SAMJ is a monthly peer reviewed, internationally indexed, general medical journal. It carries research articles and letters, editorials, clinical practice and other medical articles and personal opinion, South African health-related news, obituaries, general correspondence, and classified advertisements.

South African Review of Sociology (SARS) publishes leading scholarship relevant to the South African sociological community and beyond, including original research articles, review papers, briefings and debates. Relevance is not defined in a narrow way and contributions on subjects of comparative or theoretical interest are welcomed. Moreover, the journal does not define 'sociological' restrictively, but as the study of society in the broader sense. Prospective guest editors may direct proposals for special issues to the editors.

SARS is the official journal of the South African Sociological Association (SASA), previously published as the South African Journal of Sociology and subsequently as Society in Transition. The journal has a vision to increase the impact and reach of South African sociology under the co-publishing arrangements with Routledge / Taylor & Francis and UNISA Press. It captures the best of sociological scholarship and is committed to incorporating the work of first-time and established authors.

All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editors, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. South African Theatre Journal provides a leading forum for the academic discussion of issues relating to theatre, performance and the media, notably as these manifest themselves in Southern Africa and further afield on the African continent. The journal features peer-reviewed articles on the history, theory and practice of the performing arts, as well as the methodology of theatre research and performance studies. The journal incorporates theatre reports, book reviews, commentaries, and play texts. Since it is a major aim of the journal to foster multi-cultural and inter-disciplinary studies in the field, contributions are invited from all engaged authors, irrespective of their particular institutional and disciplinary affiliations, or their specific theoretical and methodological perspectives.

Research articles published the journal have undergone rigorous double-blind, peer-review after initial screening by the Editor for quality and fit with the journal’s objectives.
