First established as Economía Mexicana-Nueva Época in 1992, the Latin American Economic Review (LAER) has now been reformulated to be an international refereed journal dedicated to publishing original academic research in economics in English, with high theoretical and methodological standards. LAER welcomes submissions of high level academic articles related to Latin American economies, but is not necessarily restricted to this region. LAER seeks to be a forefront publication on theoretical and empirical research of prominent scientific quality in the following (non-restrictive) areas: development, poverty and education, trade liberalization, regional economics, health, labor, regulatory economics, gender studies, energy and environmental economics, monetary policy, international finance, and economic history.

Latin American and Caribbean Ethnic Studies is a cross-disciplinary venue for quality research on ethnicity, race relations, and indigenous peoples. It is open to case studies, comparative analysis and theoretical contributions that reflect innovative and critical perspectives, focused on any country or countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, written by authors from anywhere in the world. In a context in which ethnic issues are becoming increasingly important throughout the region, we are seeing the rapid expansion of a considerable corpus of work on their social, political, and cultural implications.
