The Journal of Heuristics provides a forum for advancing the state-of-the-art in the theory and practical application of techniques for solving problems approximately that cannot be solved exactly. It fosters the development, understanding, and practical use of heuristic solution techniques for solving business, engineering, and societal problems. It considers the importance of theoretical, empirical, and experimental work related to the development of heuristics. The journal presents practical applications, theoretical developments, decision analysis models that consider issues of rational decision making with limited information, artificial intelligence-based heuristics applied to a wide variety of problems, learning paradigms, and computational experimentation. Driven by observations conducted with unprecedented experimental facilities and satellites, the last few years have brought a plethora of historic results at the high-energy end of the electromagnetic spectrum. These appeal to new theoretical efforts and multi-frequency investigations, which are altogether leading to a burst of new ideas, problems, and research directions.High-energy astrophysics, a research field that connects astronomy, cosmology and particle physics, will continue to expand in the next decades with an increasing rate, additionally boosted by the forthcoming improvements in experimental detection precision.The Journal of High Energy Astrophysics (JHEAp) is the first astrophysical journal that focuses on the study of highly energetic phenomena.Pivoting on this general topic, and in the belief that boundaries in astronomy are naturally fading, JHEAp seeks the most impacting and scientifically sound papers, those generally crossing specialization fields and attracting the interest of astronomers at any wavelength.The journal welcomes manuscripts on theoretical models, simulations, and observations of highly energetic astrophysical objects both in our Galaxy and beyond. Among those, black holes at all scales, neutron stars, pulsars and their nebula, binaries, novae and supernovae, their remnants, active galaxies, and clusters are just a few examples. The journal will consider research across the whole electromagnetic spectrum, as well as research using various messengers, such as gravitational waves or neutrinos. Effects of high-energy phenomena on cosmology and star-formation, results from dedicated surveys expanding the knowledge of extreme environments, and astrophysical implications of dark matter are also welcomed topics.The journal adopts the commonly used single blind peer review system, during which the reviewer names are kept anonymous while the author or collaboration name is disclosed to the reviewers. In addition, the journal will introduce the possibility for papers to be refereed in a double blind process, in order to ensure and promote quality. A dedicated reviewer pool, an active Editorial Board, a fast and traceable online submission procedure, and appropriate reviewer incentives will further ensure a rapid and strict peer reviewing process.JHEAp has no page charges and has a delayed open access model. All color figures are free for the online version and a selection of printed color figures costs may be waived at the Editor's discretion. JHEAp will be indexed in all major systems such as Scopus and the SAO/NASA Astrophysics Data System (ADS) .

The Journal of High Speed Networks is an international archival journal, active since 1992, providing a publication vehicle for covering a large number of topics of interest in the high performance networking and communication area. Its audience includes researchers, managers as well as network designers and operators. The main goal will be to provide timely dissemination of information and scientific knowledge. The Journal of Histochemistry and Cytochemistry is an established cell biology journal that includes primary research articles, timely reviews, editorials and perspectives on the structure and function of cells, tissues and organs. This includes research into mechanisms of development, differentiation, and disease. High priority is given to submissions where imaging techniques are complemented by current genetic, molecular, and biochemical approaches. The Journal of Histochemistry and Cytochemistry welcomes concise review articles, especially those that address key issues in methodology. The journal continues to publish new developments in microscopy and imaging. Purely descriptive studies of gene or molecular expression also will be considered, particularly where supported by experimental data to generate mechanistic insights into cell or tissue function.
