Welcome to the Journal Guide

If you are a researcher from Lancaster University you can search for your favourite journals or filter to get to a selection of journals that match your research topic. Select a funder to see whether the journals are compliant. Check the filter ‘Journals with Agreements’ to limit the list to journals for which the APCs are fully waived (i.e. included in our Read and Publish agreements) or discounted. If a cost is shown then click ‘Check & Apply’ to see if the Open Access team can cover costs.

International Journal of Telemedicine and Applications

ISSN: 1687-6415eISSN: 1687-6423
DOAJ Logo

The overall aim of the International Journal of Telemedicine and Applications is to bring together science and applications of medical practice and medical care at a distance as well as their supporting technologies such as, computing, communications, and networking technologies with emphasis on telemedicine techniques and telemedicine applications. It is directed at practicing engineers, academic researchers, as well as doctors, nurses, etc.Telemedicine is an information technology that enables doctors to perform medical consultations, diagnoses, and treatments, as well as medical education, away from patients. For example, doctors can remotely examine patients via remote viewing monitors and sound devices, and/or sampling physiological data using telecommunication. Telemedicine technology is applied to areas of emergency healthcare, videoconsulting, telecardiology, telepathology, teledermatology, teleophthalmology, teleoncology, telepsychiatry, teledentistry, etc.International Journal of Telemedicine and Applications will highlight the continued growth and new challenges in telemedicine, applications, and their supporting technologies, for both application development and basic research. Papers should emphasize original results or case studies relating to the theory and/or applications of telemedicine. Tutorial papers, especially those emphasizing multidisciplinary views of telemedicine, are also welcome. International Journal of Telemedicine and Applications employs a paperless, electronic submission and evaluation system to promote a rapid turnaround in the peer-review process.Specific interests are (but not limited to) in the following areas:Telemedicine Supporting Technologies: Network architectures for telemedicineWireless TelemedicineMobile service platform for continuity of healthcareComplexity of telemedicine systemsNew sensor and medical RFID technologiesNetwork/Data privacy and security in healthcareNetwork research issues to support healthcareComputing issues to support healthcareMultimedia (video and voice) for telemedicineWireless telemedicine applicationsElectromagnetic interference issuesSignal processing techniques in wired/wireless telemedicine systemsInteractive audiovisual and data communicationsTelemedicine devices and peripheralsDatabase technologies for telemedicineStandard Efforts for telemedicineTools and platforms for telemedicine.

International Journal of Testing

ISSN: 1530-5058eISSN: 1532-7574

The International Journal of Testing (IJT) is dedicated to the advancement of theory, research, and practice in the area of testing and assessment in psychology, education, counseling, organizational behavior, human resource management, and related disciplines. IJT publishes original articles addressing theoretical issues, methodological approaches, and empirical research, as well as integrative and interdisciplinary reviews of testing-related topics and reports of current testing practices. All papers are peer-reviewed and are of interest to an international audience.Examples of topics appropriate for IJT include: new perspectives in test development and validation; issues concerning the qualification and training of test users and test developers; recent trends in testing and measurement arising in a particular field or discipline; comparisons of national/regional differences in test practices; methods and procedures in adapting tests for use in new languages or cultural groups; international assessment projects or other international studies in which testing constitutes an essential element; testing in culturally and/or linguistically heterogeneous populations; and internationalization of testing (e.g., personnel selection for global organizations, Internet applications, and international copyrights of tests and test adaptations).Peer Review Policy: All articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and double blind review by three anonymous referees, at least one of whom is a member of the Editorial Board. Publication office: Taylor & Francis, Inc., 325 Chestnut Street, Suite 800, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

International Journal of Theoretical Physics

ISSN: 0020-7748eISSN: 1572-9575

Ihe International Journal of Theoretical Physics publishes original research and reviews in theoretical physics and neighboring fields. Dedicated to the unification of the latest physics research, this journal seeks to map the direction of future research by presenting original work in traditional physics like general relativity, quantum theory with relativistic quantum field theory, as used in particle physics; and by fresh inquiry into quantum measurement theory, and other similarly fundamental areas, among them quantum geometry and quantum logic, and others.

International Journal of Thermal Sciences

ISSN: 1290-0729eISSN: 1778-4166

The International Journal of Thermal Sciences is a journal devoted to the publication of fundamental studies on the physics of transfer processes in general, with an emphasis on thermal aspects and also applied research on various processes, energy systems and the environment. Articles are published in English and French, and are subject to peer review. The fundamental subjects considered within the scope of the journal are:• Heat and relevant mass transfer at all scales (nano, micro and macro) and in all types of material (heterogeneous, composites, biological,...) and fluid flow• Forced, natural or mixed convection in reactive or non-reactive media• Single or multi–phase fluid flow with or without phase change• Near–and far–field radiative heat transfer• Combined modes of heat transfer in complex systems (for example, plasmas, biological, geological,...)• Multiscale modellingThe applied research topics include:• Heat exchangers, heat pipes, cooling processes• Transport phenomena taking place in industrial processes (chemical, food and agricultural, metallurgical, space and aeronautical, automobile industries)• Nano–and micro–technology for energy, space, biosystems and devices• Heat transport analysis in advanced systems• Impact of energy–related processes on environment, and emerging energy systemsThe study of thermophysical properties of materials and fluids, thermal measurement techniques, inverse methods, and the developments of experimental methods are within the scope of the International Journal of Thermal Sciences which also covers the modelling, and numerical methods applied to thermal transfer.
