The unprecedented modernization and expansion of rail transportation system will require substantial new efforts in scientific research for field-deployable technologies. The International Journal of Rail Transportation (IJRT) aims to provide an open forum for scientists, researchers, and engineers in the world to promote the exchange of the latest scientific and technological innovations in rail transportation; and to advance the state-of-the-art engineering and practices for various types of rail based transportation systems.
IJRT covers all main areas of rail vehicle, infrastructure, traction power, operation, communication, and environment. The journal publishes original, significant articles on topics in dynamics and mechanics of rail vehicle, track, and bridge system; planning and design, construction, operation, inspection, and maintenance of rail infrastructure; train operation, control, scheduling and management; rail electrification; signalling and communication; and environmental impacts such as vibration and noise.
IJRIS is an interdisciplinary forum that publishes original and significant work related to intelligent systems based on all kinds of formal and informal reasoning. Intelligent systems imply any systems that can do systematised reasoning, including automated and heuristic reasoning.
This international journal publishes original articles concerned with all aspects of refractory metals and hard materials.
The refractory metals comprise selected metals with melting points around 2000°C and higher, with similar powder metallurgical production and application. This includes the following metals and their alloys: Tungsten, Molybdenum, Chromium, Tantalum, Niobium and Rhenium.
Advances in hard materials continue and the journal will continue to deal with the production, uses and properties of the carbides, nitrides and borides of these metals and those of titanium as well as tools of ceramics, the superhard boron nitrides and diamond, and related compounds.
Papers are also published on the technologies of powder production (including their precursor materials), milling, granulation, cold and hot compaction, sintering, hot isostatic pressing, pulsed and other assisted consolidation, additive manufacturing, injection molding, as well as coatings on refractory metals, hard metals and hard materials. However, this does not include intermetallics and coatings on steel substrates. The characterization, testing, quality assurance and applications are also covered.
